Resumen

La novela El lugar está conformada por tres partes correspondientes a tres espacios distintos: un laberinto, un patio y una ciudad. El punto de partida de esta obra de Mario Levrero (1940-2004) es un hombre en una habitación cuyo último recuerdo es estar esperando el ómnibus para ir al cine con una mujer. El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar la construcción de los sitios por los que atraviesa el protagonista, con base en su propia psicología, y la manera en que descubre que su mente es la creadora de la trampa en donde se encuentra. Para ello, se abordarán los espacios como creaciones oníricas y proyecciones de sus recuerdos, sensaciones y temores.

Abstract

The novel El lugar consists of three parts corresponding to three different spaces: a labyrinth, a courtyard, and a city. The starting point of the book by Mario Levrero (1940-2004) is a man in a room whose last memory is him waiting for the bus to go to the movies with a woman. The aim of this work is to study the construction of the places which the protagonist passes through, based on his own psychology and the way he discovers that his own mind is creating the trap where he is. For this purpose, the spaces will be approached as oniric creations and projections of his memories, sensations and fears.
